Terry is from Amarillo, where she started working as a pharmacy technician in 1988 while still in high school. After 10 years as a technician, she refocused her aspirations towards alcohol and drug counseling, becoming a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the state of Minnesota. After a seven-year career in this industry, she shifted back into the pharmacy industry, working in the PBM industry. Her goals out of high school had been to become a pharmacist, but life got in the way, but that didn’t mean the dream ended. Terry then decided it was time to pursue that dream and started pharmacy school at Creighton University School of Pharmacy and Health Professions in their distance program. She is now in her 3rd year and will soon begin her APPE rotations in the Amarillo area.
Concerning her involvement with WTPA, Terry states: As a two-time scholarship recipient, I have enjoyed my time with WTPA. I have been able to make connections across the state that will only continue to benefit me in my journey as a pharmacist. I have been a student ambassador for the past two years. My involvement in WTPA has allowed me the opportunity to build relationships and enjoy getting to know other pharmacists not only in my area, but across the state of Texas.
